Now here is where you, the home based business owner come in. You have a couple of uses for eBooks. First, you can create an eBook and sell it on the open market. Many home business owners have had massive success doing this. However, where I think you will have the biggest benefit, is if you give your eBook away. This is a marketing tactic which has proven to be extremely successful and has become one of the leading viral marketing methods.
Furthermore, any home based business owner is able to establish their credibility and expert status by giving those in their niche market priceless facts. This credibility and expert status will usually lead to the reader visiting the author\’s website or subscribing to the author\’s newsletter via e-mail. This approach is referred to as a \”soft sell\”. Essentially, the author is just trying to get their foot in the door, and start out by having the reader visit their website, or sign up for their newsletter. Conversely, the \”hard sale\” approach is more direct. Here, the author attempts to sell their product right in the eBook itself. Whether you choose one method or the other, the fact still remains that if you compose a highly informative eBook, which can be freely disseminated to others online, the book will eventually become viral. Thus, it will continually work to promote the author\’s newsletter, website, products, and/or services.
Nonetheless, you should always consider eBooks as a cost effective method of marketing your home based business. Their reach can go beyond what you ever envisioned within your marketing plan.
